5 Flavor Cake (Glazed)

Ingredients
- 1 sticks oleo
- 1/2 c. Veg. shortening
- 2 c. Sugar
- 5 eggs Well Beaten
- 3 cups All purpose flour
- 1/2 Teas. Baking powder
- 1 c. Milk
- 1 tsp. Coconut extract
- 1 tsp. Nutmeg
- 1 tsp. Lemon
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
- 1 tsp. Orecela
Directions
- Cream butter, shortening & sugar until light & fluffy.
- Add eggs, which have been beaten until lemon colored, Combine flour & baking powder & add to creamed mixture alternating with milk. Stir in flavors.
- Spoon mixture into a greased 10 inch tube pan & bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hrs or until done.
- Cake tests done, and glaze if desired. An cool in pan about 10 min. before turning an rock to cool.
Glaze
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ c. water
- ½ tsp. each coconut, rum, lemon, Vanilla, Almond
Directions
- Combine ingredients in heavy saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, stir until sugar is melted.
- Then pour over hot cake in pan. Let sit in pan, until cake is cool.
- Use enough glaze for 10 in tube pan.
Notes
- "Oleomargarine" or "oleo" is an older term for margarine.
