Almond Danish Swirls

  1. In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, almond extract, and sugar until fluffy.
  2. Fold half of the chopped almonds into the cream cheese mixture.

  1. Separate one can of dough and form it into 4 rectangles, firmly pressing the perforations to seal.
  2. Roll each into a 7x4" rectangle and spread with about 2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture, leaving a 1/4 inch edge.
  3. Roll into a tight roll.
  4. Place the rolls on a plate, wrap with plastic wrap, and chill until firm (about 30 minutes).
  5. Repeat the process with the second can of dough.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  7. Cut each chilled roll into 4 slices and place them on an ungreased baking sheet.
  8. In a small bowl, combine the egg white with 1 teaspoon of water.
  9. Brush this mixture over the swirls and sprinkle with the remaining almonds.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes.

  1. Whisk together all glaze ingredients until smooth.
  2. Drizzle over the baked swirls.
