Asparagus Casserole

Directions

  1. Drain Asparagus and Peas. Reserve the liquid. You will need 2 Cups of liquid for the sauce; add Milk to the reserved liquid to make a total of 2 Cups.
  2. Melt 6 Tbsp Butter in a saucepan.
  3. Blend in 2 Tbsp Flour.
  4. Add the 2 Cups of prepared liquid all at once.
  5. Stir and boil until thick and smooth.
  6. Stir in 1 Large Pkg Cream Cheese until melted.
  7. Season to taste with the 1 Lg box White Worcestershire Sauce, Tabasco, garlic salt, and Pepper.
  8. In a casserole dish, arrange a layer of the sauce.
  9. Follow with a layer of the drained Asparagus Spears & tips, English Peas, and Chopped Pimento.
  10. Top with the remaining sauce (this makes two layers of sauce in total).
  11. Sprinkle 3/4 Cup Grated Sharp Cheese sparingly on top.
  12. Heat until cheese is melted.
  13. Add Water Chestnuts if desired.
