Cheddar Cornbread

Ingredients
- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 cups (8 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions
- Combine first 5 ingredients in a large mixing bowl; set aside.
- Combine milk, eggs, and cheese; add to dry ingredients, mixing well.
- Pour batter into a hot, greased 10 1/2-inch cast-iron skillet.
- Bake at 425° for 15 minutes or until cornbread is golden.
Notes
- Yield: 10 to 12 servings.
