Chess Cake

Cake Base
Ingredients
- 1 yellow Butter Cake mix or Lemon Cake mix
- 1 stick oleo (margarine)
- 1 egg
Directions
- First, mix together the stick of oleo and one egg until well combined.
- Add the cake mix and continue to mix.
- Pat the mixture into the bottom of a 9x14 inch or larger pan.
Topping
Ingredients
- 8 oz Cream Cheese
- 2 eggs
- 1 box powdered Sugar
Directions
- Blend the cream cheese, 2 eggs, and the box of powdered sugar until smooth.
- Pour the topping mixture over the unbaked cake base.
- Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes.
Notes
- The ingredient list is slightly ambiguous about the egg count. This version assumes 1 egg for the base and 2 for the topping, as specified in the directions for each part.
- A standard box of powdered sugar is 1 lb (or about 4 cups).
