Frozen Fruit Salad

Ingredients
- 4-1 lb. 4 oz. cans crushed pineapple
- 2 cups fresh grapes or 2-1 lb. cans grapes or 2 cans fruit cocktail
- 1 Tbsp. unflavored gelatin (1 pkg.)
- 1 cup orange juice
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 cups chopped pecans
- 2-1 lb. cans sliced peaches
- 1 1/2 cups cherries-cut up or strawberries
- 1 lb. miniature marshmallows
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 quarts heavy cream, whipped or 10 pkgs. dessert topping, whipped
Directions
- Drain fruit, save 1 1/2 cups pineapple juice.
- Soften gelatin in cold water.
- Heat pineapple juice to boiling, add gelatin and stir to dissolve.
- Add orange juice, lemon juice, salt and sugar and chill.
- While chilling, mix fruit and whip cream.
- When chilled, add fruits, then add whipped cream.
- If desired add a drop or 2 of red food coloring to make a pretty color.
- Put in 1 quart milk cartons and freeze.
- Makes 9 quarts.
- To serve slice right through milk carton and serve.
Notes
- If this is to be used as a salad, add 3 cups mayonnaise. For dessert omit mayonnaise.
