Granny's Sunday Afternoon Tea Cakes
Ingredients
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. sweet milk
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 t. vanilla
- 4 c. flour
- 3 t. baking powder
Directions
- Cream together the shortening and sugar until light.
- Add milk to the beaten eggs and then add the mixture slowly to the shortening and sugar.
- Add the flavoring and 2 cups of flour which has been sifted with the baking powder.
- Add additional flour to make a stiff dough.
- Roll out about 1/4 inch thick and cut with floured cutter.
- Bake at 350 degrees for about 8 to 10 minutes.
