Pop Corn Balls
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 quarts popped corn
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
- Measure popped COOK SHACK POPCORN into buttered bowl (4-quart or larger). Combine together in heavy 1 1/2 quart saucepan the sugar, water, corn syrup, salt, and vinegar. Stir. Place heat until sugar is dissolved.
- Cook, bring to boil and let boil briskly for 3 minutes (uncovered) or candy thermometer, and cook, mixture to hard ball stage (260°F.).
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in vanilla.
- Pour slowly over popcorn, turn stirring with 2 spoons buttered to coat each kernel.
- Immediately form into balls.
- Handle buttered to avoid sticking.
- Use butter on hands if necessary.
